The financial consequences for BP after the Deepwater Horizon spill will rightly be heavy. But as the investigation progresses, other parties' culpability is coming to light.

Six months have passed since the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded 50 miles off the coast of Louisiana, 11 people were killed and underwater gush of oil that tarnished beaches was caused.

The environmental blight has, quite justifiably, hurt BP's finances badly. The company is offloading $30bn of assets to pay for the fiasco and it has suspended dividend payouts.

Still, this saga isn't over. More than 11,000 people continue to work on gulf clean-up operations. An official update last week revealed 93 miles of shoreline are still suffering "moderate to heavy" oil pollution and 7% of the gulf's fishing area remains shut.

We won't know precisely how harshly BP will be judged until two federal investigations conclude early next year. That could cost BP as much as $21bn, rather than $5.5bn.

BP emerges from this fiasco humbled and humiliated. Dudley is anxious to get back to selling oil. But BP won't be allowed to move on until we know precisely how shamefully the company let us all down.

Les conséquences pour BP après "the Deepwater Horizon spill " (renversement de Deepwater Horizon) seront lourdes sans doute.  Mais lors de la progression du processus des investigations la culpabilité des autres parties voit le jour.

Six mois ce sont écoulés depuis la panne de plate-forme pétrolière " Deepwater Horizon " à 50 miles de la côte de Louisiane, 11 personnes ont été tuées et  flot de pétrole qui a pollué les plages a été causé.

Les coûts des dégâts environnementaux à juste titre  ont touché lourdement les finances du groupe BP. Le groupe vend les actifs pour 30  milliards de dollars pour payer  pour les futurs  possibles dividendes et pour le fiasco.

Le roman-fleuve n’est pas encore fini. Plus de 11,000 personnes continuent de travailler dans les opérations de nettoyage du golfe du Mexique. L’officielle mise à jour de la semaine dernière a montré que 93 miles du littoral souffrent encore " modérément ou lourdement " de la pollution et que 7% du terrain de pêche  du golfe  restent toujours fermé.

On ne sera pas précisément quelle sera la dureté du jugement de BP avant la fin de deux investigations fédérales qui seront finies dans le début de l’année prochaine. Les coûts pour BP peuvent se lever à la hauteur de 21 milliards de dollars plutôt que 5,5 milliards de dollar.

BP sort de ce fiasco humiliant humilié. Dudley est impatient de revenir aux ventes du pétrole. Mais il ne sera pas permis à BP de revenir aux ventes jusqu'à ce que l’on sache à quel point le groupe nous a fait tous tomber.

Прошли шесть месяцев с момента аварии на нефтедобывающей платформе " Deepwater Horizon " находящейся в 50 милях от Луизианского берега,11 человек погибли и нефтяная плёнка загрязнила пляжи.

Стоимость загрязнения природы очень сильно затронула финансы компании BP,что правдиво. BP продаёт свои активы на сумму в 30 миллиардов долларов, чтобы оплатить возможные будущие дивиденды и за фиаско.

Сага ещё не закончилась. Более 11,000 человек всё ещё участвуют в операциях по очистке Мексиканского залива. Исходя из фициального обновления прошлой недели 93 мили берега всё ещё  загрязнены "в тяжолой или средней степени" и  7% рыболовных территорий всё ещё закрыты.

До конца двух федеральных расследований,которые закончатся в начале будущего года, сложно судить на сколько будет строгим приговор для BP. Стоимость для компании BP скорее будет 21 миллиарда долларов,нежели 5,5 миллиардов долларов.

Группа BP вышла из этого унизительного фиаско униженной. Dudley не терпиться вернуться к продажам нефти. Но BP это не будет разрешено то того момента как будет известно насколько низко группа заставила всех упасть.
